Whether you're a dog mama, a human mama, a friend mama, or a fairy godmama, you deserve to be celebrated—for everything you do (big and little) to love and support your hive.
A little wisdom from my own mama?
Love is always the answer (even when it’s the harder choice), trust yourself (even when that little voice is so quiet you can barely hear it whisper), and there is nothing in this crazy world that YOU cannot do (yes even that wild dream of yours that feels so far away).
So if there’s a Queen Bee in your life (and if she’s not obvious, I promise if you look hard enough you’ll find her), show your love and appreciation in a unique way this Sunday. If you need a little help, scroll down for a list of five easy and fun ways to say thank you.
#1: Write her a love letter
You know what would really light mom up? A love letter from her favorite person (that’s you!). Think of 3-5 specific lessons your mom has taught you—tying a perfect bow, surviving your first heartbreak, standing up for yourself—and pen them on some cute stationery.
#2: Make her something sweet
In a double boiler (or gently in the microwave) melt 10 oz of high-quality chocolate. Line a baking sheet (that’s small enough to fit in your freezer!) with parchment paper. Using a spoon, drop quarter size amount of chocolate on parchment paper—once the pan is full, gently tap on the counter to smooth out. Quickly top each medallion with the dried fruits, nuts, seeds, or sprinkles of your choice. Add a pinch of sea salt and freeze until hard (about 20 minutes). Package up in a cellophane bag with a cute ribbon and deliver to mom in person! Click here for full tutorial.
#3 Be her personal bartender
Pour a bottle of rosé into ice cube trays and freeze overnight. Once frozen, add rosé cubes, juice of 2 lemons, 1 cup ice, and 2 TBS simple syrup (boil ½ cup water and ½ cup sugar until sugar dissolves, then let cool) to a food processer and pulse until smooth. Transfer to a pitcher and re-freeze for up to an hour, then pour into glasses and serve. Garnish with lemon slices and a sprig of fresh lavender. Click here for full tutorial.
#4 Serve her breakfast in bed
Grab some local croissants, a handful of tulips, and fresh squeezed juice, then surprise mom with one homemade surprise: grapefruit brûlée. Slice grapefruits crosswise and arrange on a parchment-lined backing sheet with the cut side facing up. Top each with 1 TBS sugar, and spread evenly to cover the top of each. Place tray under broiler until sugar browns (never walk away from the broiler!), rotating periodically so sugar melts evenly. Serve immediately. Click here for full tutorial.
#5 Splurge on something she’ll love
Pick out something she’d never buy herself (because, ya know, she’s so busy taking care of everybody else.) One of my favorite recent finds?! These cute, comfy, and fancy slippers!
