Are you taking this month to get back on track post-holidays?! It’s easy to make grand plans like attempting the Whole 30 for the WHOLE thirty days, becoming plant-based (who watched Game Changers?!), or cutting out all alcohol—sound familiar?!—but those big changes all-at-once don’t usually last.
Real change comes from a series of micro-shifts built up over time. So, I wanted to share a new ritual that might help set your day up for success:
#1: hot water + 1-2 TBS apple cider vinegar (you guys care if I call it ACV!?) = sip leisurely first thing in the morning!
Vinegar isn’t for everybody, but I love the tart tang of ACV (add some lemon and honey if that sounds good!) It’s a quick and cleansing detox that aids in digestion and regulating blood sugar. It is extremely acidic, so use a glass straw to protect your teeth!
A few other favorite ways to use ACV:
#2: Non-alcoholic “cider” or “beer”: A splash of ACV in sparkling water tastes like a dry cider—it’s almost beer-like.
#3: Bone broth: Always add a good splash when making any bone broth—it helps pull the nutrients from the bones.
#4: Heal a sore throat: Combine equal parts warm water and ACV, then gargle.
#5. Pickle something: A few of my fav pickling recipes are here and here (you can always sub regular vinegar for ACV!)
#6. Face masks: I use 1 TBS with my favorite clay mask —both Chris and I swear by this combination (yes, he loves it too!)
